Attachments missing after upgread

Ok , I really need some help here , otherwise they will kill me

This is an urgent matter

After upgrading to 4.0.7 all of the attachments ( about 2000 ) that were previously on the forum have disappeared.
New attachments can be made but anything from before the upgrade is gone.
Awaiting for any help .

Were your attachments in the database or the filesystem? What version did you upgrade from? Do you see them in the database now (they would be moved to a table called filedata)?

Hi Lynne

My attachments were store in the database. I had 3.8.1 and now i have 4.0.7.

I do see them in the database in the fnewfiledata.
Check the fnewfiledata and in there are 5.512 attachements.

It sounds like they exist then. Why do you think they do not exist? After your upgrade, did you update all the Counters you were told to update?

goshalim 10-27-2010 07:34 PM

yES Lynee i did upgraed EVERYTHING !!

I never said that they do not exest. Only that are missing from the forum

Any ideas how to restore them or to make then again vsiable?

Please someone.,, so many coders, moderators , someone at least to help us.

Iam not the only one with this problem , nobody ever did received any reply for the same problem.

THIS is not fair

Why this is happening to us ???????

Lynne 11-07-2010 02:29 PM

This is a site for help with modifications. What you are talking about it just an upgrade of default vbulletin. You should be posting over on vb.com about this. And, I'd suggest you supply a LOT more information about what you did - what version did you upgrade from, did you get any errors during the upgrade, etc. Also, try a search over there because I've seen this asked before.

goshalim 11-07-2010 06:34 PM

I did that Lynne and not just once. Note that i have seen more than 25 users having the same issue but without any reply from the official side. Also support tickets were made also without a reply .

I did suply my self a lot of info but no reply so i am looking myself to find a solution or someone to help me.
If Vbulleting,.com or org cannot help , who does??

Imagibg iam posting now over a month and they dont care jsut simole ti see what is happening.

I also Pm all of the users which they had the same problem , and none of them ever receieved some help or answer from the Vbulletin.com

Just for the info here , i was using 3.8.1 and upgrade to 4.0.7

So once again i desperately asking for help

Gosalim I had a similar problem when upgrading and my attachments were in a file. Its another table in the db and I can't remember what its called, but the structure in VB4 is a little different, I had to add a field or change the name of a field.
Sorry I cant give you the full details, I dont have them with me right now, I will do in 8 or 9 hours and will post more, from memory the table was attachmentcategoryuser, this is the table the contains the information on where each attachment is supposed to be etc and without that they will just be blank.

goshalim 11-07-2010 07:06 PM

Thank you very very much for the reply , Please try to remember what you did
You are correct all are in there.

I will look forward to have some more info .,
Tnanks a lot
