Add graphic to username via plugin
 

Hi,

I would like to add an icon next to users in a specific usergroup. I know I could do this by editing the template, but I would rather do it via a plugin to avoid hassle when upgrading the template.

But I've never created a plugin before... Can anyone point me in the right direction, or even tell me if this is the best way to go about adding the feature?

If you are applying it to all users in the usergroup you could just set it as their html markup in usergroup settings.

Oh, didn't know about that. Where does that appear? I want the icon on forumdisplay.php as well as on each post.

The html markup field is a useful field for distinguishing members of different usergroups across the board.

For instance, all the usernames of members of my management usergroup appear in bold green
