VB Backkup

Hello,

I just recently switched to vb 4 suite from Joomla. The main thing I noticed is there is no real backup mod for VB. Joomla had a couple very nice backup mods with backed up all files/directories/tables.... and included a nice restore feature.

I was kind of shocked vb doesn't have such an important mod like this. Is there some reason for this? Or maybe no one has decided to make one?

Just wondering,
Eric

Just because its so easy to do manually i presume mate

Also a nice mod which does it for you by Paul M here https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ghlight=backup

you can also make a backup via your admin panel
but it's best to do this straight from phpmyadmin

Hi, there's a backup in vb4? How or where?

I do have the mod by paul m installed. ;)

So other than most people thinking backing up is simple there's no technical reason for not having a mod which backs up files and database plus provides a restore feature?

I'm a newbie at all things computer so I enjoyed clicking "back up " in my control panel and downloading a package and reuploading the package with a restore.php file.

Thanks,
Eric

Agree its something thats needed as part of the software as it would make things so much easier!
But as i say Pauls mod is great and has worked well for us when needed in the past!

You can also install and use MySQLDumper.
