Did you try just adding "&langid=x" to the end of the link?

Oh wait, that's not what you want... you want different forums to show based on what langid is set? I think you'll want to set up a Category forum for each language and then clicking the flag will send you to that forumdisplay page (llike the tabs at the top of this site go to different Categories that only show those forums).

Just like vbulletin language chooser, no matter where you are it will add "?langid=X" at the end of url.
this is just what i need.
