5 reasons vBulletin.org is better than vBulletin.com

1) Running Superior vBulletin Version (3.x vs. 4.x)
2) MODS....
3) Better selection of smilies and post icons.
4) Less down time
5) No 1000+ post threads full of blabber and useless info.

Well I am not sure you can compare them as they have totaly differant functions but....

I do think the support from members / staff here is very good. Yes VB has gone through some change and is continuing to do so but yet the support here is great

Let me add one more - Better font.

The font at vb.com is too small to read comfortably. They strain my eyes after sometime. The font here is easier to read.

I have to agree with you on that one. I am registered as blind and use magnification software to read the screen and I have to turn it up when going over to vb.com :(

Not good for disability access issues....OFF TOPIC but I do feel vb should work on accessability issues more.

I am sure that if you would open a thread (or even better a support ticket) with suggestions on how to improve for impaired users and can give first hand feedback it would be welcomed.

Personally I hate both vBulletin.com and vBulletin.org
hahahaha - just teasing. Thought a bit of comic relief might lesson the insult of why .org is better than .com ((dot dot dot))
I do have to agree though that the 4.x series is like a huge, clunky EW. Yay vB 3! https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2011/08/2.gif

I agree on everything, I don't frequent .com as much as .org for those very reasons, the biggest being the hundreds of useless threads in the licensed user feedback forum.

I will say this though, vbulletin 4(.0.7) isn't that bad, it can be worked with, but vbulletin.com are just running it stock and clunky, me no likey.

+1

6) Superior Support :)

Hi Marco

I have done in the past and all you get back is "you can alter the look via CSS and Templates" Yes they are correct but a nice "out of the box" clear/clear version would be better

Marco van Herwaarden 10-13-2010 04:57 AM

I know of a situation where a visual impaired user (who had to use a screenreader) had problems with changes in the latest version. His input was at that time welcomed and some changes have been made based on his information.

I am sorry to hear that your input wasn't valued the same way. But maybe the difference was that in his case it was not "just inconvenient" but the changes made it impossible to use the software.
