Setting session/logging in to vbulletin outside of vbulletin
 
We have an oscommerce install and a vbulletin install. We are looking to have a one-stop login for our oscommerce/vbulletin systems which would be done through our shopping cart login. I've already made it so creating a shopping cart account automatically creates a vbulletin account, but I am struggling to integrate in the vbulletin login.

The only solution I've got working thus far is hacky (uses an iframe to set the vbulletin session data). There must be a more elegant solution using datamanger or some sort of API. Please advise.
