How to set vbulletin session outside of vbulletin

We are attempting to integrate Vbulletin in with our OSCommerce login/account creation. I've got the dual account creation stuff worked out, but when a customer logs into our ecommerce site I would also like to log them into vbulletin. How would I go about setting the vbulletin session data?
