Extra Search Options in Navbar

Hello!

Can someone explain to me, how i get more Options - like "Show Results as Posts" and " Search Threadtitles only" bevore the "Advanced Search" Link? So Users can check or uncheck these Options and start searching? It would be way more easier. I can put the Code in the Navbar and the Options are showing up but the Results are always the same. There must be something else...
