Adding a table field to vb table
If I want to add a field such as "member_number" to the user table, is it OK to add it to the user table or should I create a separate table and link them by userid? I'm uncertain if the new column and data would be lost during an upgrade. (I'm currently on 3.7.4).
Thanks for the help/advice. :) |
I've added fields to my user table and it was not lost in my upgrade to 4.x on my test sites (and should not be).

Indeed. It won''t be lost during and/or after the upgrade. About adding the extra custom field you can add it directly to the user table.
