I don't think you need a mod unless you want to rotate ads. Have you tried the AdminCP>Advertising>Manage ads?

Their ad system completely sucks as you really have no control over
your ads....ad placement needs to be custom at best..not auto
generated by VB...in my opinion they could have put more effort
into something else rather then having generic placement of ads.

So i would like to know exactly what I have asked above.
