Hide Thread from everyone but creator/admin/mod, etc.
 

I know this probably exists and I've tried searching for it for 4.x but I can't find it.. don't know exactly what it would be called..

I want registered users to be able to view threads by X usergroups (such as a sticky by an admin) in a forum but not threads made by other registered users..

So say in "Staff Applications" forum I would want only the user posting the thread and admins to be able to view the thread and no one else.

That is already built into vb. Can view others threads yes/no choose no. that's in forum permissions.

That option would work only in part; no users would be able to see any threads made by anyone else, even admins.

I don't see that in your original description at all. You should change it to include this because right now the answer to your question is exactly what Kevin posted.

It's been edited, and I never said he was wrong, I did forget to include that part and said the rest in addition to my previous search.

Kind of but no exactly.. the "[SHOWTOGROUPS]:" feature there is what I want however I don't want it to be through tags/bbcode that a user posts.. I want to be able to set it via ACP for an entire forum.

In a forum where registered users can only see self created treads, you can post content through announcements, or link threads in another forum, with no self creation access restriction.

We have a similar formula in our forum for the reporting post attention system.
