Thread Titles in Styles not Updating

Hey, I've been meaning to change my style thread titles and noticed that even though I've edited it inside the vbulletin title editor, the visual title from the forum display is not updated yet. It used to work before. Any ideas?

For example...say I released a style for 4.02 I used to put Style Name v.4.02 next to it so people knew it was recently compatible for the theme. Now its stuck on that even for 4.06

You are going to your thread and clicking on Edit Settings and changing the dropdown version number and saving?

I believe he means the thread titles or modification titles. I assume (since I've changed a few of my mod titles to something else and the changes are not showing yet...) that they will be corrected when the counters here on vb.org are updated next time.

Hmmm, I don't know what the permissions are set to for users to change titles, but I do know we have had Reported Posts put in by users asking us to change titles for them and we have done so. So, that is an option.

Well Hmmm right back at you ;)

Could you do me a favor and find out? If we can edit but it does not save i.e. makes us think we can lol then I might make a list of titles I would like changed and the reason why, if however they will update when the counters are updated (even if it's a while) then I've already edited the ones I wanted renamed and will simply wait :D no sense running any of you through the motions if they'll update automatically imo.

I have nothing in return for this favor except for these... https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2010/08/6.gif

Edit: I didn't realize he gave a little kiss, per my wife that is not included!

How are you guys trying to edit the thread title - via the Edit button on the post? If so, just like on your own forums, that edits the post title, not the thread title. In order to change the thread title, you need to do so via the Thread Tools dropdown.

Lynne,

I'm actually going to one of my modifications and clicking "Edit Modification"

As you can see below the title of the thread as seen in the navbar is still the old one but after I hit the edit button it shows the title I had saved quite a while back so that's why I assumed it was simply the counters that had not been updated yet as Marco had posted once that vb.org only updates counters when really needed I believe.

I would also assume it's the same thing for styles as the setup there is same for mods etc so I shouldn't have hijacked Dave's thread and he should find the answer too when you see my image and reply :D.

For some reason the time limit on thread titles was much lower than posts themselves, ive increased it to match. Try it again.

Fixed!

All I had to do was hit "Edit Modification" then save it again as I had already typed the new title in so davaite it should be the same for you simply hit edit then save again to show the new title ;) otherwise edit the style and change the title and since Paul fixed us up, we should all be in good shape now!

Thanks Paul, I'll drink a Dr. Pepper in your honor ;)

@Superman Thanks for the extra detail and pics . I thought it was just me.

@ Paul M and Lynne: Thanks for the quick fix.
