The easiest way to downgrade would be to revert to the most recent backup you made when of version 3.8x but that will mean that you will loose all the posts, threads, members etc that were acquired from the time of that backup and onwards.

You can try to downgrade manually as well by altering the db tables and undoing the changes in them but that would be extremly difficult, not to mention very tedious and time consumin.

If you don''t mind loosing the passwords, permissions and a few other settings then convert to a third forum and then convert back to vb 3x.

I have read a few posts where the downgrade could be possible via the Impex package. You might want to give that a try. Or go to vbfans.com as there I have read they have a dongrade script but it is paid I believe.

But wouldn''t it be much easier if you upgraded the torrent mod instead to work with vb 4x rather than downgrading your forum?
