Can't login after vbulletin server move
Hi there,
I just moved our vbulletin forums from example.com/forums to a new server at forums.example.com I moved all the files, and all the database fine, and restored so all the posts etc were showing up. However, it won't let me log in now. I try to log in with my admin username and password, but it returns the non-logged-in homepage again. I have tried changing the bburl and cookiepath and cookiedomain in the mysql, but with no luck. Please can anyone help?! Many thanks, Max |
1. Download a copy of the vBulletin zip file from vBulletin.com (if you don't already have it).
2. Once you have done so, extract the contents and navigate to the do_not_upload folder, from this folder select the file named tools.php and upload this to your /admincp/ directory on your board (via. FTP). 3. Type in the path to the file in your address bar, e.g. http://www.yourboard.com/forums/admincp/tools.php 4. Enter the details required. 5. You will then be presented with a list of options, you'll need to look for one which says 'Reset Cookie Domain' and follow the on screen instructions. Once this has been done, remove tools.php from your AdminCP folder. |
Hi there, I have the same issue.
I have follow your tip Lynne, but if I point the browser to http://www.mysite.com/admincp/tools.php I can see only a blank page. :( |
You need to make sure to upload the /install directory (minus the install.php file) if you have deleted it.
|
Done, but is the same...
I receive error 404. |
If you are getting an error 404, then you are not pointing to the correct location.
|
Great Lynne,
thanking your tips I have fix it. :) |
