All members getting "Account Locked out" errors?

Hi all,

Using 3.5.2 VB

All out members who try to log in today are getting the following error:

"Wrong username or password. You have used up your failed login quota! Please wait 15 minutes before trying again. Don't forget that the password is case sensitive. Forgotten your password? Click here!"

The error appears even though they've only tried to log in once. I get same error trying to log into the Admin CP.

Our web host moved our site to a new server in the last few days, could it be related to that?

I read in another post to remove all entries in the 'strikes table for a temp solution but there are no record in the 'strikes' table.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks
Melt

Moved to a new server you said, does this include a recent import of some database, or a general use of ImpEx? If so, make sure to send e-mails to all users, requesting to change their password (there's an option for it).

If that is not the case, however, I'd suggest contacting the .com team. Or perhaps someone else here knows an alternative to that.

HI DataHero,

I'm really not sure what was involved in moving the site and database to the new server.

What is ImpEx and why would members need to reset their passwords?

Thanks for the reply.

Regards
Melt

I was wondering whether the server move included a database import (e.g. from a phpBB forum), and if so, whether you used the importing system called ImpEx (which is available on .com), but looking at your reply, I'm assuming that is not the case.

No, there was no phpBB import.

Thanks

Let me get this straight in my head.

You were on another server, running 3.5.2, and you have recently moved to another server on the same host?
