Suggestion: PT summary in Thread opening post.
 
Having a template to include a PT summary in posts would have many benefits.

The best example is here on vb.org:
If the OP of modification posts would show the number of open bugs and feature requests, instead of these being buried within hundreds of posts, then that would be quite an enhancement. Clicking the links would lead to the bugs & feature requests.

Some other examples:
Staff forum threads can list the number of tasks that are open for a forum area or for a staff member.

What do you think about this and possible other uses?
Would implementing such a template be doable?

I think a custom thread field may be better. But I would be happy with any implementation of PT into opening posts. BB code could work.
