302 to 301 for better seo

Vbulletin uses 302 redirection for most parts. For example, when you set 'display simple view of threads' in the search engine friendly archive to 'NO' the archive threads redirect to the original threads in the forum however, the redirection is 302 which is very bad for seo. Is there a way to change the 302 redirection to 301 for better seo? thanks
