How to replace Login fields with custom links?

Hi, I removed login fields from the header and put neccessary links in the footer that allows me to login. Now I want to insert a language flags on the header on the place where login code was before.

I insert my images and links...

...but this is not working so nice. In Firefox my flags are on the top, where I want them, but in IE7 they are below title image, what looks quite bad.

Please, what else I have to use from the old Header to have my flags on the right position?
