issue posting URL from same domain

kinda hard to explain but when i post a link that contains the root domain, it appends the domain name again in front of it... for example, if i type into a post:

www.my-domain-name.com/page.htm

it automatically makes it:

http://www.my-domain-name.com/!!www....e.com/page.htm

but any other domain posts just fine.

what could be the problem? i have vbSEO installed, but dont think any changes were made to cause this.
