vBCMS Programming issues

Hey I was wondering if someone could help me out...

I have my vBCMS set up with a layout of 1x2 which means i have one news article at the top and then underneath the articles are split into two.

What I am trying to do is put an advertisement image between where the first article ends and where the rest of the content starts (that are split into the two columns).

Is anyone able to help me work out how I can do this please?
