CMS cache question

Hello,
I am building the widget for the CMS, and i want to show some articles, but i dont want to use sql queries. I wanted to know if there is a variable that stores the articles in the cache just like there is this variable $vbulletin->forumcache in VB3, and you could you use it instead of sql queries again and again.
