Is there a way to have one thread on two boards and still be connected?
Hi guys,
Here's what I mean: I want new threads posted on board B to simultaneously get posted both on board B and on board A (but not the other way around! If a thread is posted on Board A, it just stays on board A). I realize threads can be copied, but what I'm looking for is a little different. I want threads made on board B to not only exist on both boards, but I want it setup to where, if someone replies to the thread, on EITHER board, that the reply will display in both places. Do you see what I mean? The thread exists in two places at once, and regardless of which place you're looking at it, if you make a reply, the reply will then be in both places so that you can access it either way you choose. Is this possible? Thanks |
I think, if you tell Board B to connect to Board A's database, and share the tables you require there, it will work. Both boards must have the same software and must be the same however for it to work.

Both boards are part of the same forum/database.
When say boards, I mean like how we're posting in the "vB3 General Discussions" board right now. |
Your not the first person to ask but I dont believe I ever really saw a solution...
You would probably have to code this on your own or hire someone to do it for you. I'm not qualified to do it but maybe a plugin at the right place to query 'forum b' for threads and mix the results in with those from forum a? |
Are you talking about 2 boards or 2 forums?
PS Board is a seperate installation/domain/site, forum is a forum on a board. |
he's talking about 2 forums on the same board, not 2 different domains (which is what I originally thought.)
