Show/Hide Forum Sidebar On User Group Per User Group Basis
1 Attachment(s)
This is another mod that I just coded for my own forum where some love the forum sidebars and some hate it. What you gonna do, you can''t please everyone, right :D So I came up with this solution that it will allow you to show or hide the forum sidebar on a usergroup per usergroup basis.
Installation: upload the includes folder to your forum root folder and then import the link_gids.xml file inside the mod package to Plugins&Products in the Acp of your forum. After you install it, go to your Acp->Usergroups->Usergroup Manager->{ Chose the group that you want to show or hide the forum sidebar from->Click Edit Usergroup} and under Forum Viewing Permissions, you will see a new setting that says: Hide Forum Sidebar, and set that accordingly. By default it is et to No. For more information, please have a look at the attached screenshot below. |
This a very nice mod, Thanks!
One thing for the future though might be, a setting that is like this one but sets usergroups to view a certain block from the sidebar. In other words, setting the permission so that a certain usergroup cant see a block on the sidebar. Just a thought. :D |
or hide after a certain number of posts
