Alternating row colors for forums on forum home?

I had someone create a custom style for me, but now they are unreachable and I can't figure this out...

On my forum home page, the background color of the 1st row for the 1st forum is a light gray color, and all the rest are white. I would love to get this to alternate between the gray and white.

I've done lots of searching but all the solutions I came across were for vbulletin 3.x and I couldn't get any of them to work in my version 4.0.3. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Sure, here you go. Sorry I had to blur it out as this is a very private forum. But basically the first row is gray and all the rest are just white. I assume they are either supposed to be all white, or ideally I'd like to get them to alternate colors. Thanks!

Easier to make it all the same than to alternate unless you don't mind writing some code. Do a search in templates for ".forumhead + .childforum .L2:first-child .forumrow" and also ".forumbit_nopost .forumbit_nopost .forumrow" and set the background to be the same. (That will fix it on the default style, but if yours is too customized, then it may not work on yours. The only way we would be able to help would be to see the page in that case.)

Thanks for the reply! All the same would be fine with me. Do you know the difference between forumrow_firstentry_background and forumrow_background? I can't find either of these in the stylevar "dictionary". It seems like these are the only 2 it doesn't explain LOL.

I tried googling for info but can't find anyone talking about forumrow_firstentry_background anywhere, even on vbulletin.org.

The names seem pretty self-explanatory but I can't imagine the system would be programmed to make the first row (firstentry?) a different color for some arbitrary reason?? I also notice in the default theme the first row is the same color as the rest, so I must be missing something ...

forumrow_firstentry_background is a stylevar. It shows up under Style Manager > find style > StyleVars

Some users like to have the first of something different than the others.

Month old but it is relevant to my interests. I'm surprised no one has come out with a mod for this yet.

I do not mind having to make some code adjustments i jsut want my alt colors for main forum and thread listing (when you click a forum) :(
