What is $postbits contained in inside the SHOWTHREAD template?

My SHOWTHREAD has it called only by

<div id="posts">$postbits<div id="lastpost"></div></div>
and on my postbit legacy template (completely reverted to default) there is nothing containing the postbit table..

However for some reason I have a table containing the entire postbit table which is making it go outside of my entire forum's width...

anyone know what is containing the $postbits?

Why not view the source of a thread and search for <div id="posts"> on it to find out that answer? :)

If I remember correctly this is normal, your forum width is just too narrow.
