Banned user
 
Ok so we have a banned user who manged to sign back up to our forum and cause more troubles for our members!
What is the best way to deal with these sort of ppl when issusing a ban???
I know we can add there ip etc in the admin cp under vbull options for banned users and ive also added his ip to the control panel we use too
IS there any more i should be doing???

Not really. Banning the IP doesn''t help much as they can use one of the million proxy servers out there to bypass the ban.

keep an eye on new registrations for proxy IPs.

Cheers guys i didnt wanna go down the route of using a proxy ban mod as it would also effect new members and others such as aol users etc!

Is there much more i can do to keep them out then?

If I see a registration from a confirmed proxy server I ask the new member to explain why they are using a proxy server. If they don't reply I delete their membership.

If I see that the IP is coming from a proxy server like Japan, Israel, Korea, etc. It doesn't show a city just a dot on the country itself. I ban them immediately. They're up to no good. They usually are spammers and always use the birthday of Jan 1, 1980
