KeepAlive on or off?
I run a server with a vbulletin site, recently I switched over to a smaller server with less ram so I put my KeepAlive as off, the site runs fine, no issues it seems. Any reason why people would keep it on? It reduced my ram usage by 400mb.

As per the manual (config.php) this is best kept turned off.

It seems about Apache KeepAlive directive. For greater site responsiveness you need turn On it.
Best advice is install additional lightweight frontend server before apache (like lighttpd or nginx) and turn on keepalive on it. this server can do same things without memory consumption . but on apache need turn Off keepalives. |
I run Apache, KeepAlive is on and no problems so far since half a year.
