"Default Sort Field" keeps changing to "Thread title"
 

"Default Sort Field" keeps changing to "Thread title"

Does anybody know any scenarios where something would keep altering this. This is the third time its happened now and ive had to run some SQL query's I found to globally set them back to newest first/descending etc.

I know it could be a mod that ive installed but also that it could be something else im not sure, Does anybody have any idea what kind of problem or mod can cause this to happen and is tehre a way of stopping it from happening in future?

Are you using datastore_caching? I think if you change it via a query and then don't rebuild the bitfields (Forum Manager > edit a forum > save), then it *may* revert if something else goes and updates the forums via the datastore_cache. It's been so long since I've looked into that sort of issue though so I could be totally off base here (I don't use datastore_caching any longer, so I can't remember the issues I used to encounter when doing things via the database instead of via the admin cp).

JUST saying... This just happened to my vBulletin 4 installation. Out of nowhere...
