Changing usergroup colors for different skins?

Is this possible?

I have looked everywhere and cant seem to find an answer. i am a new admin and looking for a smart person to guide me along my path.. any volunteers?

but how do i fix this? i have a light skin that looks great but i have a dark skin where the regular users (black) doesnt look to good.

How are you setting the usergroup color in the first place? Are you talking about the HTML username markup? If so, just apply a class there and then define the class in Main CSS:
<span class="admincolor">username</span>

.admincolor {color:green;}

i set up the usergroup colors like that. but they dont change when i goto a darker skin..

here is a breakdown..

my regular members are black which looks great on my light skin.

i just installed a dark skin and i want my regular members to be white on that skin..

how do i do this?

Exactly how did you set it up? I need specifics of what you did in order to see what you did wrong. I use the method I specified on my site and it works fine.

the only place i have changed the usergroup color is in the usergroup manager.

So if i go into the main css and add that coding and specify colors FOR EACH SKIN. it will work?

If you change the html markup to use a class, as I showed above, then you add the class to the Main HTML and change the color there for each style.

do you have aim?

im not exactly sure what you are talkign about when u say add a class or define a class....

I don't do support over AIM. You may want to read up on CSS and how to apply styling to words through the use of classes.

Actually, I seem to recall an article about doing HTML Markup using a class... https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=213531

thank you much i will look into it. i am using vb 3.8 btw

Lynne 05-09-2010 02:14 PM

The only difference between 3.8 and 4.0 would be where you put the CSS. In 3.8 you would put it in the bottom box of the Main CSS page. In 4.0, your would put it in the additional.css template.
