DB error on users
 
I backed up my 3.8 version using myPHPadmin then uploaded vbulletin 4.

This I gave a new mySQL db.. so I have now got 2 mySQL databases.

I dont need my old forums structure just the users... I have copied the table.user across which got all my old users across but i cant change password etc.. as it gives a db error.

Is there a way I can copy these users across or export (from old db) and import (new db)... ive tried but keep hitting errors.

Why not just use Impex to import the users from your old board to the new one ?

whats impex and how does that work...

i just tried importing the old mysql into myphpadmin and its just killed everything... WHOOPS

Impex is the database import system provided by vbulletin which can be found at http://members.vbulletin.com

You can not just copy over a few tables from 1 installation to another. User information is already stored in many tables and tables reference eachother.

If you want to start clean, then ImpEx is the way to go.
