Search criteria

Hi.
How can i add search criteria to request finduser in search.php? I need to add extra field in table post, like "WHERE post.field = x".
I try add "$criteria->add_field('field', vB_Search_Core::OP_EQ, $x);" but isn't help:(

How it work? :)
