Blog Visibility Only On Login

Hello,

We've recently purchased vBulletin w/ CMS and I'm amazed at how easy it is to use and implement. I did have one question though. We've set it up so that only members can view the content management area and the forum. I cannot locate the settings to do the same with the blog section. Is there a way I can block non-members from viewing any of the blog entries? Can this be setup as a default for all blogs?

Thanks,
Wil

I have not tested this but have you checked the usergroup permissions. I am thinking you can edit the not registered / not logged in group and should fix that.

Hi will,

I just dug a little deeper into that section and yes, I found exactly what I needed.
Here's the precise steps...

Login to admin
Expand the Usergroups Tab
Click Usergroup manager
Click Go next to the Usergroup you want to set permissions for

On the page that follows you have options to set permissions to all sorts of blog features. Mainly the Blog General Permissions section and Blog Entry Permissions section were the ones I was concerned about. Worked like a charm!

Now my entire site is protected and only registered users can log in. Perfect!

Thanks for the help!

Wil

But if you'd like to open only blog section to see unregistered visitors, it is not possible.

Thats a not cool and there is no way to do it :(

No problem. I am glad you figured this out.
