Confused about what to do...
 

We are currently running vBulletin version 3.7.2 Patch Level 1.

Vbb offers newer versions such as this Forum ..... So was wondering if it's worth upgrading to vbb's newest Forum software? I heard the new version is complicated and I need to re-learn everything all over again.

The template syntax is different in vbulletin 4, as well as the method to render a template. So, then means that 99% of the modifications available for 3.x will not work in 4.x. Your style will also not work in 4.x.

That seems to be the case as Lynne stated above as well. But I wouldn''t call vb 4 complicated. It is symentic coded and its code it is very easy to understand once you get the hang of things.

Why don''t you set up a test 4.0.2. forum and have a look around and see for yourself how things will look like? That is the best way, in my opinion, to decide about something.

Thanks to both of you. But I am not upgrading my current Board. I'm starting a new one. I like the old style vbb Boards, .... they seem to be more simple yet refined. One example is www.digitalcorvettes.com. That said, I am doing a new Forum and not sure to go with a older model like DC or bite the bullet and buy the newest model vbb software. The newest model seem kinda bland, and streamlined but looks ok I guess.

A few more questions, .... www.digitalcorvettes.com -- Nice design vbb Forum. I like this model. This Forum ( vbulletin.org) is an older model and looks like old school. The newer vbb Forum software looks complicated and not much style. Which is easier to maintain? I'm running an older model with GT now, but we know the the CP. Please advise.
