Stop spammers?

Recently I've been getting attacked by spam bots....I was wondering how to stop them?

For instance today, I got attacked by a user named "FindStolenLaptops"

He had this message:

Quote:

Use Snuko Anti-Theft Software to trace your lost or stolen laptop.

It's easy to use, safe and secure.

Only $19.99, but you can get 30 days for FREE!

Track your device if it's lost
Get a photo or video of the thief
Shut down your computer
Register the loss
Back up your data
Any way of stopping this?

Install Cyb's Advanced Permission mod to prevent links being posted and PM's being sent under specified post counts and add NoSpam!

Thanks a bunch! Is there a NoSpam! for vBulletin version 3.8.5? How come this thread can be replied to but not my RSS Feeds thread? :P

Speysider 03-22-2010 06:00 PM

I'm just more specialised to these threads than RSS lol ;)
Any mod that has 3.8 as their version number will work on any version of 3.8.x

Yea, but the version of NoSpam!...the latest version is 3.7.

Grr....get somebody who can help me with my RSS thread lol :D

Mods for 3.7 will work just fine on 3.8

Alright, got it working!

I offer nothing to this, just pointing out how funny the first post was. lmfao

Now I am wanting to ask...how do I stop users from posting on my site if they make posts in foreign languages like Russian or Arabic? I've got like 5 anti-spam plugins on my site and both Akismet and NoSpam! installed. I still have new users posting weird advertisements on my forum but thankfully one of the plugins caught it and brought it to the "posts that need moderation before getting posted" section of the admin panel.
