4.01 template broken on 4.02

What can I do to make my 4.01 template work with 4.02. It seems it is completly different. How do I fix this?

Completely different? They didn't change that much. But, basically, edit the template, click View History > Compare, see what the differences are and make the changes to your custom template and save.
