Tab Menu in v3.8

I put this in the vB3 General Discussions which was probably the wrong forum so please accept my apologies for the double post.

I am trying to have a tab menu system in v3.8.4 and have found one at:
http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/ddtabmenu.htm
but I need help on how I can change it to use a THIS_SCRIPT method to set the active tab.

Any help is greatly appreciated - thanks!
