Moderator Permissions

I need to make a few moderators that have the ability to ban users through the ModCP, but not the ability to view the entire forum. It seems when I add someone as a super moderator, they have access to view EVERYTHING. I have verified that super moderators are blocked from all restricted forums, but they can still view (just not post).

Is this something on my end, or something built into the VB system? Any way around it?

If i remember well after you make some users Super mod then on the admin panel go to usergroups and choose Administration permissions.

Click there and then a list of each moderator will appear, on the right side jsut click edit permissions and from there you choose what access your moderator should have .

If you need anything else we are here

Hi I am trying to edit some of my Super Mod permissions. and I get this message come up when trying to do as you said in your previous post..I am the owner of the site so don't understand why??

Sorry, you are not allowed to edit administrator permissions.

If you think you should have permission to access this page, you will need to edit the $config['SpecialUsers']['superadministrators'] variable in the includes/config.php file.

To allow the administrators to access this page, edit the variable to include the user IDs of those administrators should have access, separating each user ID with a comma, like this:

$config['SpecialUsers']['superadministrators'] = '1,25,57';

To allow only a single administrator to access this page, simply add that user's ID with no commas, like this:

$config['SpecialUsers']['superadministrators'] = '1';
