Allow Users to Tag Spam

In the quest to combat SPAM I've thought this would be a great idea for years, and have never seen it (or anything like it) amongst the anti-SPAM solutions.

Simply, this would allow Users (perhaps selected Users) to tag a Thread as Spam. This thread would then go in the Moderation Queue and be invisible to all normal Users until a Mod gets to check it.

Conditions could be set, such as:
Only allow threads < hours old, to be tagged
Only allow posters with > posts, to tag
Require x amount of tags before it goes into the moderation queue.

I find a few Users on my Forum sent notes about "x post is SPAM" repeatedly, and this would be a near ideal way to deal with it quickly. For a forum like mine which is small, and therefore often doesn't have a Mod present it would be ideal.

IS there anything like this?
Would anyone else be able to use it?

Why not use the built in feature called report this post.

OR you can turn akismet on and that really knows if a thread is spam or not.

Yeah, and all that does is REPORT the post. It doesn't deal with (hide) the SPAM at all. Until a Mod gets on to have a look at it it's still there for all to see. In non-busy forums that can be a great deal of time. Hours, even days. Especially in forums that don't require much active moderation except combatting spam.

SPAM gets through no matter what Mod is used. There's no way to completely stop it. That's why there's countless mods using different ways to deal with it. Which is why something like this could really help. It get's the users to become part of the process of dealing with spam that no non-spammer wants to see.

Turn on Human Verified Actions (For posting) until they have like 2 posts or something.
