Moderator markup

Is there any method for making a moderator's moderation text appear in a particular manner when he/she is moderating... but not when he is doing his normal posting as a user?

Anotherwords - some sort of "Moderator Hat On" type of text formatting that would distinguish him as a moderator ... and "Moderator Hat Off" normal formatting.

I searched the vb4 mods but didn't see anything that seemed to readily fit those parameters.
