vB4 Plugin Licensing System
 

Hi Folks,

so Ive got 4 plugins ready to release, and I want to offer a gold version without accreditation links to people here on vB.org.

Problem is, I dont have any kind of licensing system, Ive seen quite a few other plugin writers using similar, where people can buy a license for a plugin for their board.

Does this exist somewhere as a mod, paid or otherwise? I dont really want to go to the hassle of writing one when its already been done (better than I could do) by so many other people!

Why not just use private forums ? Its a good alternate option.

I guess I could, BUT, I have multiple plugins, and would like to set a price for each, and would like to keep some track of the domain that the plugins are registered to.

Ive not used private paid forums on any of my boards, but I doubt that these features would be ready out of the box?

the thing Im really looking for though is the actual licensing part, to record which domain the plugin is being bought for.

Why not have them require to give you their domain before buying. & Add it to a log or add it to your forums post for each individual license? :p my two cents.

why not try licencing your php script, like i do
it costs $99 and recording IP address and domain name logging

and once setup correctly you can protech your php codes and license it for that ip address only and domain
