Say I filtered a word in vboptions like 'apple' so it showed up as '*****' when posted on my forum, how would I go about changing it so that any filtered word shows up as 'REMOVED' or 'FILTERED' regardless of length etc?

edit; I want it to work with the plugin that allows users to have an optional to turn the filter on or off so I cant use replacement vars
