Mirror threads

I have vendors that have their own forum but people rarely go in there.

I allow them to moderate their own forum to give them an extra incentive/layor of control.

Would it be possible to mirror a thread in there in another section? So the vendor still has control but the thread can be viewed in more popular sections?

Essentially, all the vendors threads would still be in their forum, so a user can see them all in one place, but also in the respective forum that happens to deal with the product/offer/etc.?

You could move it and leave a redirect.

Yes, but the redirect does not show posts, views, and the redirect can't be bumped like a real thread.

Not to mention, if moved, then the mods for that forum lose their ability to moderate that thread.

You could place it in the more popular forum and move it to the vendor forum to fix that. In that case, it shows up on the popular forum as a link and the real thread is in the vendor forum so they can moderate it.

That is a band-aid solution, but once moved, it can't be bumped in the more popular forum with updates.

That is exactly what I am doing now but this mirror thread is my dream mod right. Hopefully I can find a coder to do it.

Did you figure out how to do this yet? I would love this feature!

Make your more popular forums into "Master Forums" which will include threads from your vendor forums.
