Modifying the look of how 'New Posts' returns results

I posted this on vb.com and Lynne attempted to steer me in the right direction, but it sort of lost traction and I didn't want to push the issue over there because what I'm looking for is more of a modification, I suppose.

Here is what has happened so far:

I'd like to upgrade to 4.0.2, especially due to the patch that does nothing to address the security issue in 4.0.1 other than upgrading.

However, I like the way New Posts displays in 4.0.1.

What needs to be changed for my New Posts to return like this in 4.0.2?

Probably save the template (threadbit?) and the css for items that changed (the name, Replies) and it looks like a phrase changed (Posted By / Started By). You can always export the style so you have a copy of the whole thing prior to your upgrade.

What specifically are you interested in? I'm sure it is a combination of both the styling/css/phrases.

I really don't see much of a difference between your image and what they currently look like on here. Did you look at the phrases? It looks like those are what changed for the Posted By line and the Last Post stuff.

Well, it's not a huge difference, I'll admit.

In my picture, I like how the forum is listed in the first column under the forum title and how the last column isn't there.

I'm not a CSS or coding buff by any stretch of the imagination, so I apologize if this is easily accomplished.

Does anyone know how to -
1.) Eliminate the fourth column with the forum title in it.
2.) Put the Forum title on the second line of the thread title, as it is in 4.0.1

I submitted a ticket asking which elements control this, but I fully expect to be told to go scratch.

Any help will be appreciated.
