how i can downgrade my vbulletin forum from 4.0.2 to 3.8.6 ?
 

YES i did a very bad thing, i upgraded my forum from 3.8.6 to 4.0.2 and i didn't take any backup and now the forum is a mess, database errors are everywhere
Is there is any chance to downgrade the forum version from 4.0.2 to 3.8.6 without any mistake?

i did try what you said but i think the database is upgraded too, so even i uploaded the 3.8.6 files the database is configured to 4.0.2 now

i learned my lesson the hard way this time :)

Finally i found a backup from 2 days ago and all fixed right now
i guess it's the only and the right way to do it

Restoring a backup is really the only way possible to downgrade.

Where can I download this 3.8.6 ?!?!? I only have 3.8.4 :(

You can download any older version you are entitled to from the Members' Area.

Try to ask your host if they have any backups of your db from before. Some hosts make regular backups. It is worth a shot.

In meanwhile, why don''t you post in vb 4 section about your db errors and see if you can get some help in fixing them.

Ah, I missed that part.

I did this and it was a major mistake too.
I had to reinstall my forum from scratch, and re-insert everything into the database manually into the correct tables etc.

Took me over 2 days. Goodluck ;)
