Collapsable Right-Side Column [How to get rid of it!?]

I don't want visitors having the option of collapsing the column on the right side of the forums.

1) Could I completely turn it off and manually put in code to add a permanent column on the right side of the forums? If so, how would I go about doing this. Another reason why I'd like to go this route is so I can make the column a little more narrow than the default.

2) Is there a way to just get ride of the button visitors click to collapse it?

Thanks in advance. :D

The code to get rid of the 'button' has been posted (set it to display:none), so just right a condition that if $guest, the style is display:none for the button. That should work.

Hi Lynne, thanks for the reply and please forgive my mis-understanding. I have yet to install 4.0, as I'm trying to get this all figured out before I do.

So is what you told me to get rid of the boxes in that column entirely, or to just get rid of those arrows that allow a person to collapse it, with the columns remaining?

Thanks!

Setting the button display to none should just get rid of the arrow on the right side that allows you to collapse it. If you want to get rid of the little arrow that collapses each individual block, then you would edit the template and put a condition around it on whether to show it or not based on whether they are a guest or not.

Thanks Lynne, is it possible to adjust the width of the boxes in the right column?

Did you try looking at the stylevars? forum_sidebar_width

Can you explain how do do this Lynne? I want to get rid of the collapse button for the sidebar also, but don't know what to edit.
