Adding Space above forum

I added html and css successfully to my forum to add an additional navigation above the default VB nav. I added CSS to vbulletin.css and html to the "header" template. Everything added OK except the default VB nav & links are directly over my new links. I'm sure it's a pretty easy fix to move the forum down the page a bit, but I'm not sure how to do it... can anyone let me know what I need to do?
