Do Crawlers/Bots contribute to # of times an article / thread is viewed statistics?

Hi all,

a general question,

I know that a good % of Who's Online visitors are google/yahoo crawlers

Do they actually count towards the statistics of # of times an article or thread is viewed?

They should. But I'm not 100% positive of it.
