Realchat integrate with V4 yet? Can I still get V3.8?
 

I was planning to purchase the new vbulletin 4 this week, but the number one reason I am choosing vbulletin is the touted integration of the realchat server side software. A quick check of the forums reveals that perhaps this does not work with version 4?

Has there been an update that I am not aware of?

Is it still possible to purchase vbulletin 3.8 so I can integrate successfully?

I am not aware of a vBulletin 4.0 version of that modification yet, but if you purchase a license you will also have access to older (3.x) versions.

Do you already have a site set up and are just switching over to vbulletin or are you setting up a new site altogether?

If you are starting a new site I would suggest that you:

Buy vbulletin 4.0
Install vbulletin 3.8
Set up your forums and post as many threads as you need to (mainly stickies and such)
Get a list of all the mods you want to install and download them
Find a theme you like

and if by then there is still no realchat integration you can either install realchat on your 3.8 OR you could just pay someone to make an integration mod. This will allow you to at least get some work done in the meantime - seems pretty useless to build a whole 3.8 site if you plan to upgrade soon. Just my 2 cents.

Yes, I would really like to see this integration done with v4 I think too.
I went ahead and bought V4 - installed V3.8 - and spent hours reading old psots about integrating with 3.8
I even paid for the upgrade of realchat to V5
Right not I am having issues running both the old 2.2 realchat and V5 on the same server - but soon that will be fixed and I will be looking at created a new php page outside of Vbulletin folder - that has login / register for the chat room use.

I really really really hope the integration will successfully pull the avatar info into the realchat script and show there - it's the only reason I went for vbulletin and canned the phpbb project I was working on...

if you guys want this done you should post in the paid support section and mention if what version ov vB you are running and if it is 4.x.x then suite or forum only.
