what's the if statement?

I'd like a code, I want it to be like..

Code:

<if condition="unknownvariable">$forum[moderators]</else>None</if>

I want it so if that section has a moderator (or more than one), then it shows who they are. And if not, it shows the word "None". How can I do this?

Does anyone know this? In other words, I need the "unknownvariable".
