404 Page Redirect To Thread - Brought to you by ChopSuey - http://forum.vbdiscussions.com
DEMO - http://www.vbdiscussions.com/this404...!lolitsawesome Step one, in any forum of your choice - create a new thread and name it " 404 Page Not Found " Make sure it is a closed and stickied thread. The contents in the post put whatever you want. Here is mine for example: Quote:
Now after you have posted the thread copy the URL from your browser. 2. Open 404.txt OR edit 404.shtml with notepad or wordpad. change the thread link Code:
http://forum.vbdiscussions.com/showthread.php?t=104 then change the contents between the <title> and </title> to "" Yoursitename - Yoursiteurl.com | Redirecting. Hit save after all has been completed. 3. Upload 404.shtml or 404.txt (if you have uploaded 404.txt rename the extension to .shtml) (whichever one you edited) to your site root. If you have /forum or /forums upload it to the folder too. Any other folders within the public_html folder upload it to there also. |
What does this do? I don't see a need for this =(
*Spey does NOT mark as installed, until he knows what this does. |
If anyone clicked a link that is no longer active for your site, it will lead to a THREAD that YOU posted telling them the page has not been found. So its more of a "404 Thread"
